On Friday April 29th, 2011 – at Bratislava the German team will battle the Russian team in the first round of the Ice Hockey World Championships. Both of these teams are coming in via Group A.

Group C will be a fun mixture of teams. Of the four groups, this has the potential to be the toughest group, with two teams sitting near the top.

Group B will be a bunch of fun in the 2011 World Championships. Canada comes in as the decided favorites in this group, but several other teams want to compete at the top.

In Group A, Russia, Slovokia, Germany and Slovenia will compete. This group appears to be one of the few that has a distinct favorite over the others.

India started this tournament as favourites and have fought hard to reach the finals. Sri Lanka have played excellent cricket and their road to the finals have been a lot easier. Based on current form, both sides have the ability to go all the way and lift this world cup.

Top-ranked Australia will be hoping to go 3-0 at the Cricket World Cup as they take on fourth-ranked Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka on March 5th.
