Wayne Bridge leaves England after Terry sex scandal

1

Manchester City defender and England national Wayne Bridge has just made a statement he will leave the England squad for the World Cup 2010 following well known sex scandal involving England teammate John Terry.

Bridge will not participate in the coming friendly games either and this leaves manager Capello without both his top left backs, Bridge and Ashley Cole, for the friendly game against Egypt on Wednesday.

“To avoid what will be inevitable distractions, I have decided not to put myself forward for selection.” says Bridge in his official statement.

John Terry have recently had an affair with french model Vanessa Perroncel, which is Bridge’s former girlfriend and they also have a child together. This led to Terry being sacked as captain of the England team.

“It has always been an honour to play for England. However, after careful thought, I believe my position in the squad is now untenable and potentially divisive.“ Bridge continues.

How much will this affect the English team? Well, we believe they are strong enough with the current manager to go through these problems. Maybe we will get a hint on the upcoming match against Egypt.
