Owen need more regular games to join England squad
Michael Owen used to be a regular in the England national team but found out it hard to get back in shape after some serious injuries. After some impressive goals in the Manchester United shirt he might be back in coach Fabio Capello’s thoughts, but it’s confirmed he needs more regular games.
Owen score a hat-trick in the Champions League clash with Wolfsburg last week, but the following league game he didn’t even start, which is worry, and also something Capello is pointing out.
“I saw the last game he played, on television, and he scored three goals in the Champions League but the next game he did not play.” Capello told Fifa.com
It is known that Fabio Capello usually choose players with good fitness and players who is regular starters for their club team. Owen would need more league games in order to be part of the England team for World Cup 2010. At the moment, the English boss has 30 players in mind to compete for the 23 available places in the team for next year.
