Netherlands 2010 World Cup
Group E – Netherlands Analysis
After putting up some impressive numbers in Group 9 of the European Zone (eight wins over eight games), Netherlands is a favorite to win Group E of the 2010 World Cup. Assistant coach Frank de Boer has clearly stated that the Dutch team fully intends to win the championship and they have the numbers to make a strong showing. A win this year could certainly make up for their awful showing in 2006 and the regrettable performance of the Netherlands team in the UEFA EURO 2008.
Netherlands will be up against some tough teams in Group E, however. Rounding out the group are teams from Cameroon, Denmark and Japan. With more points than any other African team, Cameroon has a striking advantage in South Africa this year. On June 14th, the Netherlands team will face off against their European rival Denmark.
