England 2010 World Cup
Group C – England’s Competition
England will be in Group C for the 2010 World Cup along with the United States, Algeria and Slovenia. This will be the 13th World Cup that England has qualified for and they hope to avoid another American upset.
The United States are looking to repeat their 2002 success of advancing beyond the group stage while Algeria returns to the World Cup after a drought of 24 years. Slovenia amazingly defeated the Russians with a relatively inexperienced team and should make this group a little interesting.
The favorites of this group are definitely the Americans and England. England is predicted to win the group and many favor them to win the whole Tournament. As it stands, the two Group C advancement tickets are predicted to be taken by the U.S. and England. The underdogs, however, are Algeria and Slovenia and neither team should be taken lightly at this stage.
