Cameroon 2010 World Cup
Group E – Cameroon’s Group Review
Group E of the 2010 World Cup should be challenging as the Europeans are doubled up with the Netherlands and Denmark in the same group. Cameroon has the most experience out of any African team and comes to the world stage for the sixth time. Japan rounds out the group and remarkably was the first team to qualify for South Africa.
The favorites out of this group are the Netherlands and Cameroon with Japan and Denmark working from the underdog position. The Netherlands won all eight of their games in the preliminary stages and Cameroon, often referred to as the Indomitable Lions, are the African powerhouse.
Denmark struggled in 2006 and missed the UEFA Euro 2008, so they’re looking to perform a littler better this time around. Japan appears in the World Cup group stage for the fourth time and has won three of the last five AFC Asian Cups. Japan was eliminated in 2006 after the group stage but hopes Shunsuke Nakamura and Keisuke Honda can take the team the distance this year.
